Wildberries Logistics Hub in Voronezh Region Hit by Major Fire Amid Ongoing Drone Attacks
Wildberries’ logistics center in Voronezh faces significant disruption as fire breaks out amid drone attack threats, impacting storage capacity and sales.
In the early hours of August 11, a major fire erupted at a Wildberries logistics complex in the village of Aleksandrovka, Novousmansky District, Voronezh Region. The facility, spanning approximately 152,900 square meters, had only been fully operational since November 2025 and was among the largest warehouses operated by the company.
The fire comes amid a series of drone attacks targeting Wildberries’ logistics infrastructure across multiple Russian cities. According to OSINT analysts and reports from local residents, explosions were heard during the incident, and the facility was reportedly under attack. Local authorities subsequently declared an alert in Voronezh due to threats of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) strikes.
Impact on Wildberries’ Operations and Market Dynamics
The Voronezh logistics complex was a critical storage and distribution hub, capable of holding over 90 million items. The construction of the facility, led by the Wildberries&Russ (RVB) conglomerate, involved an investment of approximately 11 billion rubles. Following the fire, the company confirmed that all personnel were evacuated in accordance with safety protocols.
Wildberries’ logistics centers have been systematically targeted by Ukrainian drone strikes since July 18. Satellite imagery analyzed by Reuters indicates that the marketplace may have lost roughly 20% of its warehouse capacity due to these attacks. The impact extends beyond physical damage; the combination of burned facilities and disrupted logistics has contributed to a notable decline in sales.
More than 20 logistics centers across key Russian cities such as Saint Petersburg, Tula, Elektrostal, Krasnodar, and Nevinnomyssk have been affected, with at least 14 centers completely destroyed by fire. Sources estimate Wildberries’ direct losses to be in the range of 100 to 200 billion rubles. The company's turnover has reportedly declined by 25%, driven by a mass exit of sellers who have lost inventory and business operations.
"Wildberries’ logistics infrastructure faces unprecedented challenges, with significant capacity losses and market contraction ensuing from targeted attacks," analysts note.
As the company works to stabilize its supply chain and recover lost capacity, market watchers are closely monitoring sector rotations and shifts in consumer purchasing as alternatives to disrupted marketplaces gain traction.
