Russian Strike Sparks Fire and Power Outage in Zaporizhzhia Amid Ongoing Conflict
A Russian military attack in Zaporizhzhia has caused a fire and partial power loss in one district, with emergency services responding overnight.

Early on June 7, a military strike by Russian forces hit the city of Zaporizhzhia, igniting a fire and causing a partial power outage in one of its districts. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, confirmed the incident and stated that emergency services have been deployed to manage the situation.
Impact on Infrastructure and Civilian Areas
The strike led to a fire outbreak, and the district affected experienced a partial loss of electricity. Power restoration teams are actively working to reinstate electricity supply to the affected consumers. Authorities had issued warnings throughout the night about the potential use of guided aerial bombs and ballistic missile strikes targeting the Zaporizhzhia region.
"Due to the attack, one of the districts partially lost electricity. Energy workers are already working on restoring power supply to consumers," said Ivan Fedorov.
This attack marks a continuation of recent escalations in the region. On June 4, Russian forces targeted a residential district in Zaporizhzhia with drone strikes, damaging a multi-story apartment building and several parked vehicles. The attack resulted in the death of a 44-year-old woman and left 16 others injured with varying degrees of severity.
The ongoing strikes have heightened concerns over the stability of infrastructure and civilian safety in the contested area, reflecting the volatile security situation that affects market confidence and regional economic activity.
