Following the European ban on Russia Today (RT), former RT France head Kseniya Fedorova has secured a new role on French television, maintaining her presence in the media landscape with a conservative outlet.

Transition to CNews and Continued Pro-Kremlin Commentary

After RT’s broadcasting rights were revoked across Europe, Fedorova, who holds a residence permit in France, joined the right-wing conservative channel CNews. She now hosts an authorial program titled Lumières orthodoxes ("Orthodox Lights"), focusing on the role of Orthodox churches across Europe. Additionally, she provides commentary on international affairs on the radio show L'Heure Inter on Europe 1.

Despite the change in platform, Fedorova has not shifted her pro-Kremlin views. In May 2024, she attributed the origins of the Russia-Ukraine conflict to NATO's eastward expansion and accused Western countries of prolonging hostilities by derailing peace negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow in 2022.

"The root cause of the war initiated by Russia is NATO’s expansion eastward," Fedorova stated during a recent broadcast, reflecting her consistent narrative.

Politico reports that Fedorova and several former RT France employees were able to join CNews, possibly due to connections with the channel’s owner, Vincent Bolloré. Bolloré is known for his longstanding support of Marine Le Pen, leader of the far-right National Rally party.

This development highlights the ongoing sector rotation within French media, where personnel previously affiliated with Russia Today are finding new platforms aligned with conservative and nationalist audiences. Market watchers note that these shifts may influence content direction and viewer demographics on channels like CNews, possibly affecting advertising and trading volumes linked to media stocks.
