Drone Attacks Hit Russian Regions Resulting in Casualties and Heightened Security Measures

On August 5, a drone attack in Russia's Kursk region resulted in one fatality and six injuries, according to regional authorities. The unmanned aerial vehicle struck a private residence in the village of Kozyrevka, located in the Bolshesoldatsky district.
Additional casualties were reported in the neighboring Belgorod region, where two individuals were injured during drone strikes in the Shebekino area. Among the wounded was a fighter from the volunteer unit "Orlan." Another victim, a man from the settlement of Maslova Pristan, sustained injuries when a drone struck his vehicle. He sought medical attention independently for mine-explosive trauma.
Heightened Security and Drone Interceptions in Major Cities
Overnight on August 6, Moscow's mayor announced the destruction of three drones heading toward the capital. No damage or injuries have been reported in Moscow so far. Authorities in Yaroslavl region declared a drone attack threat as well, resulting in the closure of roadways leading out of Yaroslavl toward Moscow. Residents were advised to avoid travel in the affected corridors or use alternative routes.
"Refrain from trips in the specified direction and its surroundings, or choose routes bypassing this section," urged Yaroslavl regional head Mikhail Yevraev via Telegram.
