Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a series of drone attacks on the Russian-annexed Crimean Peninsula overnight on June 20-21, targeting key infrastructure and military installations, according to regional reports. The assaults resulted in fires at the Kerch port's oil product storage terminal and prompted defensive actions near Sevastopol.

Details of the Drone Attacks and Impact

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed governor of Sevastopol, reported that the city’s military forces actively repelled the Ukrainian drone strikes, with air defense systems and mobile fire units engaged in intercepting the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Four Ukrainian drones were shot down near Balaklava and Cape Fiolent, strategic points along the coast.

"Military units in Sevastopol are defending against the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack, employing air defense and mobile fire groups," Razvozhayev stated. Preliminary information indicates no casualties have been reported so far. Security forces are also using small arms to target the drones.

Meanwhile, transport security authorities temporarily closed traffic on the Crimean Bridge, a vital link between Russia and Crimea, as a precautionary measure. Travelers and drivers in the inspection zones were instructed to follow security personnel directives.

Telegram sources dedicated to monitoring the Crimean situation indicated a fire broke out in the Kerch port area, specifically at the "TES-Terminal," a railroad complex used for transshipment and storage of oil products and liquefied gas. The port of Kavkaz was also reportedly affected.

Additional fires were reported in the Kurortnoe settlement, where an air defense facility is located, as well as near a military unit (No. 98546) in the Kerch vicinity. This escalation follows a previous wave of drone strikes on June 20 that triggered multiple fires across Crimea, including at the Tavricheskaya thermal power station, oil and gas storage sites, gas distribution stations, and key bridges and crossings, according to open-source intelligence from the "Crimean Wind" monitoring channel.

"The Ukrainian drone attacks have targeted critical energy and military infrastructure, causing significant disruption while prompting a strong defensive response," regional sources noted.

The attacks highlight the ongoing tactical use of unmanned aerial systems by Ukrainian forces to strike strategic locations in Crimea, challenging Russian control and complicating logistics and defense in the annexed territory.
