Western Tutors Employed to Teach Alleged Putin Children Foreign Languages Amid High Costs
Investigations reveal Western governesses provide language education to Vladimir Putin’s presumed children, with annual expenses reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Western Tutors Involved in Language Education for Putin’s Alleged Children
Recent investigative reporting has uncovered that children believed to be fathered by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva are taught foreign languages by governesses from Western countries. These tutors specialize in German and English and have been employed continuously from 2017 through 2026, according to the findings.
The report highlights that around 20 tutors from the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, and Ireland have been engaged over this period. In January 2026 alone, salaries for three such governesses reportedly amounted to no less than 3.5 million rubles, equivalent to hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
The tutors are officially documented as "lead translators" at the Institute of Professional Retraining within the International Medical Center "Sogaz." This classification facilitates their ability to obtain work visas and permits in Russia under the designation of "highly qualified specialists."
Hiring responsibilities appear to be managed by Kabaeva’s cousins, Olesya Fedina and Ekaterina Golovacheva. Official documents reference the children only as "wards," omitting direct mentions of Putin or Kabaeva. However, one 2019 document refers to the name Ivan Fedin, which investigative sources note does not align with the actual name of Olesya Fedina’s son.
Previous journalistic investigations have suggested the names of Putin’s alleged sons with Kabaeva as Ivan (born in 2015) and Vladimir (born in 2019), though these remain unconfirmed.
Strict Protocols and Living Arrangements at Presidential Residence
Sources indicate that tutors lived with the children at the presidential residence in Valdai. Due to the sensitive nature of their roles, they were required to maintain rigorous health standards and undergo regular medical examinations. Tutors were also explicitly instructed to avoid imposing any personal religious, political, or ideological views on the children and to refrain from discussing topics related to sexual education or LGBTQ+ issues.
"By the age of four, Ivan should be fully immersed in a 'language bath,' with his English speech reflecting that of an educated European," Olesya Fedina reportedly told the governesses in 2019.
Similar expectations were reportedly set forth for German language instruction, emphasizing native-level proficiency and cultural assimilation.
Efforts to obtain comments from the majority of tutors, as well as from Kabaeva’s representatives and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, went unanswered.
This investigation sheds light on an obscure aspect of the lives surrounding one of the world’s most secretive political figures, illustrating a substantial investment in the foreign language education of his alleged offspring.
