In a series of coordinated drone strikes overnight on July 18, Ukrainian forces targeted several locations across Russian territories, resulting in fires, casualties, and evacuations in multiple regions.

Significant Impact on Logistics and Urban Areas

One of the most devastating attacks occurred in the Tambov region, where a drone strike ignited a fire at a Wildberries logistics warehouse in the city of Kotovsk. Local authorities confirmed that seven employees lost their lives, and 24 others were injured. The governor of Tambov, Evgeny Pervyshov, attributed the blaze directly to the Ukrainian drone attack.

"The drone strike led to a significant fire at the logistics center, causing multiple casualties and disrupting critical supply chains," said regional officials.

Video evidence circulating on social media platforms and monitoring Telegram channels appears to corroborate the attack's location and timing, showing the drones in flight and the resulting inferno at the warehouse. Ukrainian monitoring channels also released footage allegedly from inside the Wildberries facility, showing the extent of the damage.

In Vladimir region, a drone struck an apartment in a multi-story building, triggering a fire and prompting authorities to evacuate residents to temporary shelters. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in this incident. Governor Alexander Avdeev stated that while evacuation was necessary, a full evacuation of the building was not required.

Meanwhile, Moscow experienced a massive drone assault with the Ministry of Defense's air defense forces reportedly intercepting 33 drones in several waves. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed the city was targeted by over 370 drones in total. Emergency teams are actively managing the aftermath of debris falling around the city.

Additional strikes were reported in the Leningrad region, where six drones were shot down, as noted by Governor Alexander Drozdenko.

Videos and reports from Telegram channels also suggest a fire at another Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal near Moscow. There are unconfirmed reports of explosions at an oil depot in Noginsk, less than 10 kilometers from Elektrostal, as well as blasts in Tver. Authorities in Moscow and Tver regions have yet to officially comment on these claims.

Expanded Assaults Reach Crimea

Ukrainian forces extended their drone operations to the occupied Crimean Peninsula as well. According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel "Crimean Wind," air raid alerts were sounded in Sevastopol, Kerch, Feodosia, and the settlement of Gvardeyskoye, home to a significant airbase.

The appointed Russian administrator of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, reported a state of air alarm lasting over two hours starting shortly after midnight local time, indicating heightened alert and defensive readiness during the attacks.

These drone strikes represent a notable escalation in the ongoing conflict, demonstrating Ukraine's increasing capability to strike deep into Russian-controlled territories and disrupt critical infrastructure and civilian areas.

Market participants and analysts should monitor the evolving situation closely, as these attacks may influence regional logistics, energy supply lines, and overall market stability in affected sectors.
