Drone Strike Causes Fire at Ozon Logistics Center in Krasnodar Amid Ongoing Attacks

On August 24, a drone attack targeted the Ozon logistics center in Krasnodar, resulting in a significant fire and disruption of the facility’s operations, according to local officials and company sources.
The head of Krasnodar, Yevgeny Naumov, reported via Telegram that fragments from the intercepted drones fell in multiple locations within the Prikubansky district. Emergency services are actively responding to the incident, and the warehouse fire is currently being fought.
Ozon HQ confirmed that staff have been evacuated safely and preliminary reports indicate no casualties at the site itself. The logistics center has halted all operations, including the acceptance of incoming shipments and order fulfillment. Alternative warehouses are being mobilized to maintain supply chains.
"Due to safety concerns, delivery routes to this warehouse are suspended, and other facilities are engaged to continue operations," an Ozon spokesperson said.
Casualties and Broader Regional Impact
The incident occurred amidst a series of drone strikes and explosions across Krasnodar and the nearby Stavropol region. At least three sirens were reported in Krasnodar overnight, accompanied by visible columns of black smoke from explosions and fires.
According to Naumov, tragically, two children lost their lives, and nine others—including seven children and two adults—were hospitalized after drone debris struck a private children’s center. The governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, confirmed that drone fragments also damaged residential and under-construction multi-family buildings.
Meanwhile, OSINT analysis from ASTRA revealed that another major Ozon warehouse in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai, spanning over 93,000 square meters, was also targeted and set ablaze. This facility is critical for storing, sorting, and dispatching both food and non-food products to Ozon customers.
Residents in Stavropol reported hearing explosions, while Governor Vladimir Vladimirov stated that air defense forces are actively repelling drone raids aimed at the region's industrial zone.
Market and Supply Chain Implications
These coordinated attacks on major logistics hubs present significant challenges to e-commerce and supply chain continuity in southern Russia. Ozon, one of the country's largest online retailers, relies heavily on these centers for timely delivery of goods.
The temporary suspension of operations at Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk warehouses will likely impact order fulfillment speed and inventory availability. Market participants and logistics analysts are watching closely for further developments as emergency responses continue.
